Rick has over 30 years of experience in the field of Family Law and has appeared at every level of Court in Alberta. He was born and raised in Red Deer and has been a Partner at Schnell Hardy Jones since 1994.

Rick attended the University of Calgary to receive his Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) degree and continued to attend the University of Calgary to obtain his Juris Doctor. Rick articled at Schnell Hardy Jones and has been a Partner since 1994. He has been the Senior Partner since 2017, and he is Co-Managing Partner of the firm.

Rick was born and raised in Red Deer and played hockey with the Red Deer Rustlers of the Alberta Junior Hockey League, the Red Deer College Kings of the ACAC, and the University of Calgary Dino’s.

Rick has over 30 years of experience in the field of Family Law and has appeared at every level of Court in Alberta. He is experienced in all family matters, including separation and divorce, division of property, decision-making and parenting time disputes, child support, and spousal support.

In addition, Rick appears on behalf of both the Director of Income and Employment Supports and the Director of Maintenance Enforcement. Rick is also a member of the Collaborative Lawyers Association of Central Alberta and a member of the Central Alberta Bar Society.

Rick frequently appears in both Provincial Court and the Court of King’s Bench of Alberta to advocate for his clients. His wealth of experience is of immeasurable value to clients involved in a serious Family Law dispute.
